Introduction:
Introducing a newly shipped PCB based on AD300D. The AD300D is a high-frequency PCB built using Rogers' AD300D laminate material. This PTFE-based laminate provides a low and controlled dielectric constant, low loss performance, and excellent passive intermodulation (PIM) response. The cost-effective construction delivers improved electrical and mechanical performance over standard PTFE PCBs.
Features:
- Well-controlled dielectric constant of 2.94 ± 0.05 at 10 GHz and 23°C
- Low loss tangent of 0.0021 at 10 GHz, 23°C, and 50% relative humidity
- Decomposition temperature over 500°C
- Moisture absorption of only 0.04%
- CTE of 24 ppm/°C (X-axis), 23 ppm/°C (Y-axis), 98 ppm/°C (Z-axis)
- Low PIM of -159 dBc at 30 mils thickness
- Time to delamination over 60 minutes
Benefits:
- Wide range of applications due to excellent electrical and mechanical properties
- Improved power handling capability
- Higher antenna efficiency from low loss
- Maintains mechanical integrity during manufacturing and assembly
- UL 94-V0 flammability rating
- Excellent dimensional stability for repeatable circuit performance
- Improved manufacturing yields
Construction Details:
This 2-layer rigid PCB uses 35 μm copper layers on a 1.016 mm (40 mil) thick AD300D laminate. The board measures 61.32 x 21.92 mm with a finished thickness of 1.1 mm and a tight dimensional tolerance of ±0.15 mm. It has a minimum trace/space of 4/4 mils and 0.3 mm minimum hole size. There are no blind vias on this design. The 1 oz. copper layers are finished with 20 μm of plating and an immersion gold surface finish. The top layer features a black silkscreen, while the bottom layer has no silkscreen or solder mask.
PCB Statistics:
12 components
28 total pads (19 thru-hole, 9 top-side SMT, 0 bottom-side SMT)
27 vias
2 nets
100% electrical testing prior to shipment
The PCB artwork is provided in Gerber RS-274-X format and the board meets the rigorous IPC-Class-2 standard.
Applications:
The AD300D PCB is an excellent choice for high-frequency applications such as:
Cellular infrastructure base station antennas
Automotive telematics antenna systems
Commercial satellite radio antennas
This high-performance PCB is available globally.
