Recently, topics such as "foldable screens" and "triple-foldable screens" have become hot issues in the capital market, leading to significant stock price fluctuations for some A-share companies. Numerous investors have inquired on interactive platforms to identify the A-share foldable screen industry chain.

According to incomplete statistics, 31 A-share companies have mentioned their business related to "foldable screens" or "triple-folds" in their responses on interactive platforms.

Many Companies Mention Collaboration with Notable Clients

Several investors have specifically asked whether companies are collaborating with well-known smartphone manufacturers regarding "foldable screens."

For instance, investors inquired about Hongxin Electronics on the interactive platform regarding their business layout in the foldable screen sector and whether they supply products for foldable smartphones from brands like Huawei, Honor, and Xiaomi.

On September 3, Hongxin Electronics responded that the company has invested significantly in R&D for soft boards and high-end multilayer boards for foldable smartphones. They have achieved mass production for multiple mainstream models with key clients, including H Company, Honor, Xiaomi, and Motorola, in the foldable screen sector.

IDC recently released a report on the Chinese foldable smartphone market for Q2 2024, indicating that Huawei ranks first with a 41.7% market share, followed by Vivo and Honor in second and third place.

Market Share of Major Manufacturers in the Chinese Foldable Smartphone Market

Public information shows that notable smartphone manufacturers like Huawei, Honor, and Xiaomi have iterated several models of foldable smartphones. Apple is also expected to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026. Industry insiders predict that foldable smartphones are likely to become a cornerstone of the high-end smartphone market.

Notably, A-share listed companies that explicitly mention collaborations on foldable screens with well-known smartphone manufacturers include Visionox, Green Precision, Aishide, Dafu Technology, and Anjie Technology.

Visionox stated on the interactive platform that they currently supply multiple foldable products to various brand clients, including internal foldable, external foldable, horizontal, and vertical folding models. They focus on developing lightweight, low-power, and cost-effective foldable screens, with many leading technologies in reserve.

Dafu Technology mentioned that its subsidiary Dafu Fangyuan is deeply involved in the R&D and processes of metal materials and is a key supplier of core components for H Company's foldable smartphone hinges.

Anjie Technology emphasized their commitment to developing relevant technologies for foldable products and expressed optimism about the market's development prospects. They have technical reserves for foldable screens and provide precision structural components for various brand clients' foldable products.

Some Companies Mention "Triple-Foldable Screens"

Recently, Huawei has teased the upcoming launch of new products, with promotional materials suggesting the release of a "new triple-foldable smartphone."!

In response to this news, several investors inquired whether listed companies' businesses are related to "triple-folds."

Li'anlong stated on the interactive platform that their PI (high-end electronic-grade polyimide) products are primarily used for flexible display materials, flexible circuit board materials, and advanced semiconductor packaging materials, which can be applied to triple-foldable smartphones.

Lian De Equipment also mentioned on the platform that their products can be used in triple-foldable smartphones, but due to confidentiality agreements, they cannot disclose specific client product information. They maintain good cooperation with several well-known domestic smartphone manufacturers.

Xingsen Technology stated that their subsidiary, Beijing Xingfei, supplies components for foldable smartphones to major domestic and Korean clients, including products applicable to triple-foldable screens.

Kaisheng Technology indicated that their ultra-thin flexible glass (UTG) possesses characteristics like wear resistance, high strength, flexibility, and rebound, making it suitable for foldable electronic products, including triple-foldable devices.

Dongmu Co. stated they are one of the main manufacturers of MIM (Metal Injection Molding) hinges for foldable devices, noting that the technical and production differences for triple-foldable hinges are primarily in quantity.

Jintuo Co. responded that some of their specialized equipment can be used in the manufacturing processes for components of triple-foldable smartphones, although they are currently unaware if their products are being used in the production of triple-foldable smartphones.

Market analysts remind investors that the behavior of chasing short-term hot topics exists, but they should avoid merely pursuing trends. It is essential to maintain independent judgment regarding relevant hot topics and investment targets.
