November 30th News: According to reports, Huawei's planned intelligent automotive systems and components company is estimated to have a valuation of up to 250 billion yuan after selling equity to investors!
Among them, Changan Automobile and its parent company, China South Industries Group Corporation, are expected to purchase approximately 35% and 5% of the shares of the new company, respectively. Based on the valuation, their investments will reach 87.5 billion yuan and 12.5 billion yuan, respectively.
According to three informed sources, potential minority shareholders include FAW Group and Dongfeng Motor Corporation, which are also engaged in in-depth negotiations with Huawei regarding the acquisition of up to 5% of the shares.
Two of the sources stated that Huawei may still be the largest single shareholder, holding a stake of 40% to 50%, at least for the next two to three years.
The three sources stated that the transaction details, especially the equity split and valuation, have not been finalized and may change. One of the sources and a fourth source stated that this transaction will also require approval from regulatory authorities.
It is worth noting that the business involved in Huawei's establishment of the new company can be roughly divided into application technology and foundational technology. The main businesses that have been split out include intelligent driving solutions, intelligent cabins, intelligent automotive digital platforms, intelligent vehicle clouds, AR-HUD, and intelligent vehicle lighting, all of which fall under the category of application technology. The more foundational aspects such as chips, optics, software algorithms, etc., are firmly controlled by Huawei.
The valuation of 250 billion yuan demonstrates the market's optimism and confidence in Huawei's prospects in the intelligent automotive field. It also highlights investors' recognition and expectations for the future potential of intelligent vehicles, believing that Huawei's investment will bring disruptive technological innovations and market changes.
However, as competition in the intelligent automotive field intensifies, this also means that Huawei will face challenges from other tech giants and traditional automakers. In this industry full of opportunities and challenges, innovation, technology, and successful market implementation will be decisive factors.
