According to a report by the Bangkok Post, the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) will continue to promote investment in the printed circuit board (PCB) industry.

Thailand is the largest PCB manufacturer in ASEAN and the world's fifth-largest producer. Printed circuit boards are core electronic components widely used in electric vehicles, smart electronics and home appliances, computers, medical equipment, telecommunications equipment, automation systems, and robotics.

The BOI stated that Thailand's PCB industry is experiencing exponential growth. From January 2023 to June 2024, the total investment application in this industry exceeded 140 billion Thai baht, compared to only around 15 billion Thai baht per year between 2021 and 2022. These investment projects mostly come from enterprises in mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong.
