The PCB industry holds the largest share in the global electronic component sector. The Americas, Europe, and Japan were early pioneers in this industry, accounting for over 70% of global PCB production value before 2000. However, in the past 20 years, Asia, particularly China, has gained advantages in terms of labor force, resources, policies, and industrial clustering. As a result, global electronic manufacturing capacity has shifted towards mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea, and other Asian regions. Since 2006, mainland China has surpassed Japan to become the global leader in PCB production.
The proportion of mainland China's PCB production value to the total global PCB production value has increased from 8.10% in 2000 to 54.60% in 2021. China holds the top position in both PCB production volume and value worldwide. According to Prismark's previous forecasts, Asia, with China's solidified core position, is expected to continue dominating the global PCB market. The mainland China PCB industry is projected to have a compound annual growth rate of 4.30% and reach a total production value of $54.605 billion by 2026 (Xu Zhangchao).
